  Delightful, Delicious DiPrato's
Why deprive yourself ... Enjoy the DiPrato’s Experience

From the start, the culinary chemistry between Dianne Light and Bill Prato sparkled. First, came Dianne’s on Devine—an instant, yet enduring triumph. As their accomplishments grew, as the accolades poured in, a dream stirred within Bill, executive chef at Dianne’s On Devine: Giving Columbia a true New York-style delicatessen.

DiPrato’s Delicatessen opened May 2004, and, today, the DiPrato’s Experience affords patrons a rewarding escape from ordinary fare. The reward? Delectable food, beautiful décor, and a beguiling balance: friendly service and a pleasant, neighborly feeling.

DiPrato’s, located where the Purple Cow grocer operated, graces a quiet neighborhood barely off the beaten path. Driving up, you notice the rich red brick, set off by greenery, and spacious windows where light pours in. Approaching the wooden, double-door entrance, a thought comes to mind. You’re about to enjoy the DiPrato’s Experience.

You could say a Southern breeze laden with Italian accents drifts through this New York style delicatessen. Dine if you like on the patio where the glassy splash of falling water melts away concerns. Reserve our patio and assure you and your friends an indelible dining experience. Pita and pimento cheese on the patio is a treat!

Blend Dianne Light and Bill Prato’s presence and culinary skills and you get a wonderfully popular delicatessen—DiPrato’s.

Bill Prato — “Great food is in the blood. That’s where it comes from.”
Bill Prato grew up in an upstate New York Italian family and honed his culinary skills by traveling throughout Europe and spending 15 years in cuisine-conscious Miami and Los Angeles. Acknowledged by chefs for his presentations, Bill brings a sophisticated influence to the menu. Bill earned a degree in Hotel, Restaurant & Tourism and graduated from the Culinary Institute of America, the world’s premiere culinary college.

Dianne Light — “I love restaurants. I can’t imagine not filling my days with them.”
Restaurateur Dianne Light grew up in Shandon and comes from a family with deep roots in the restaurant business. Following in her father’s footsteps, she discovered that restaurants are her passion. Her restaurant resume includes Labrasca’s and Jesudi’s. In 1989, she opened Dianne’s On Devine, and now she brings another great restaurant to Columbia, DiPrato’s, a magical experience featuring good food and good service.
